Zhejiang Normal University(ZJNU), founded in 1956, is one of the five key universities in Zhejiang Province, and one of the top 100 universities in China. Chemistry, Materialogy, Mathematics and 锚点Engineering are the four top 1% disciplines in the world according to the ESI(Essential Science Index) global ranking, and 20 disciplines are listed as first-class disciplines in Zhejiang Province. There are 13 national first-class undergraduate professional construction sites, 21 national courses, and 4 national experimental teaching demonstration centers at ZJNU.  ZJNU possesses 3 campuses, covering an area of more than 4,000 acres with well-equipped libraries, laboratories, gymnasiums, entertainment centers, hospitals, supermarkets, etc. The university consists of 19 colleges and offers 71 undergraduate programs, 8 first-level doctoral programs, 1 professional doctoral degree program, 28 first-level master degree programs, 13 professional master degree programs, and 7 post-doctoral research stations. ZJNU has over 30,000 students including more than 3,000 international students. Among the total staff of 2,850, there are 1,920 full-time teachers, including 340 full professors and 680 associate professors, and 800 teachers hold doctorate degrees. The university is well equipped with advanced and multi-functional facilities. The library has a collection of over 3.7 million hard-copy books and 2.2 million e-books. Its green and beautiful campus furnishes an ideal place for living, study and work. 
        
ZJNU makes strenuous efforts to open up to the outside world. In recent years, ties of academic exchange and cooperation have been set up between this university and over 280 foreign universities and research institutes in more than 60 countries. It has established student exchange programs with more than 40 overseas partner universities. So far, the university has established five Confucius Institutes in the US, Ukraine, Cameroon, Mozambique，Tanzania and South Africa respectively. The university is authorized by the Ministry of Education to recruit international students who are sponsored by Chinese Government Scholarships and Confucius Institute Scholarships. Also, international students can apply Zhejiang Provincial Government Scholarship, Scholarship of Jinhua Municipal People's Government and Zhejiang Normal University Scholarship at ZJNU.
