Xinjiang Agricultural University (XJAU) has been agriculture -oriented for higher education that covers agriculture, science, engineering, economy, business management, literature and law since 1952.
The university has 20 faculties with more than 25,000 full-time students and 1500 faculty members. Besides 18 Ph.D. programs, 73 master programs, and 60 undergraduate programs for bachelor degrees, it has 6 postdoctoral research stations. It also provides plentiful higher education programs to tens of thousands of students from ethnic groups of China and over 3,000 international students from 30 countries by its multi-language engaged teaching teams.
The university is renowned for its grassland and environmental science, soil science, land resource management, water conservance and electro-power engineering, hydrology and water resources, food science, crop science, crop genetics and breeding, forestry, silviculture, horticulture, pomology, animal science, animal nutrition and feed science, equine science, basic veterinary medicine, economics, economics and management of agriculture & forestry. National research laboratories and scientific model stations reinforce the university.
The university has academic and scientific cooperation with educational and research institutes of many countries, including the United States, Canada, Russia, France, Japan, Italy and Pakistan. Joint programs such as international economy and trade, management of human resources, economics, industrial and commerce management, accounting, civil engineering, communication and transportation engineering for undergraduate with the UK and Russia are greatly welcomed by both native and international students. It provides excellent language courses like Chinese, English, Russian to students as well.
